DJ: Good +; edge bumping to top and bottom edges; sunfading to spine; vinyl separating from the paper on both panel top edges. Red leatherette boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine and front board. Pictorial endpapers. 217 pp 4to. This book is written by the Director of the Presidio reconstruction project who has studied the area and gained a feel for the local history. From the Chumash Indians to the Spanish discovery of California in 1542 and eventual settlement in 1782 to the more modern discovery of its quaintness by immigrants as California grew through the years. Full of B&W photographs of people, places and events. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
