London: J.M.Dent, 1960. 1st Edition Thus 2nd Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. A.H.Watson. The jacket is complete but top edge is shelf rubbed.The top corners are bumped . Internally fresh and clean. A perfectly acceptable copy. This copy is inscribed to Theodora Fitzgibbon and George Morrison. Theodora Fitzgibbon 1916-1991 was a well known food writer. Although she was born in London in 1916 she spent her adult life living in Dublin. While studying/ and working as an actor in Paris in the 1930s she became friendly with Balthus, Cocteau, Dali and Picasso. She Married Irish-American writer Constantine Fitzgibbon in 1944. While living in London the Fitzgibbon's numbered amongst their friend, Norman Douglas, Henry Moore, Dylan Thomas and his wife Caitlin. She and Constantine parted after fifteen years of marriage. In 1960 she married Irish photographer and film maker George Morrison. Theodora (Theo) was founder of the Irish Food Writers Guild. She wrote two Memoirs "With Love" in 1982 and "Love Lies a Loss" in 1985. She died in Dublin in 1991.
