Protected by a removable Brodart clear-plastic sleeve. Bright, clean, square and reasonably tight. Sharp corners. NOT a library discard. NO owner's name or bookplate. NO remainder mark. NO underlining. NO highlighting. NO margin notes. An essential guide and the standard bibliography on the Santa Fe Trail (which traversed parts of Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and New Mexico). Contains 718 expertly annotated entries, about half of which describe first person accounts. Illustrated with 6 plates and double-page map. Although unstated, this 1971 first edition was limited to just 1,500 copies. An errata sheet was not issued with this first edition; however we have added a photocopy of the additions and corrections issued with the 1986 facsimile edition. Bound in the original green cloth, stamped in gold. Complete with dust jacket.. First Edition (so stated). Hardcover. Fine condition/Fine dust jacket. ix, 271pp.
