1956 hardcover as pictured. A beautiful memoir of life growing up on the Santee Delta in the lowcountry of South Carolina. The author outlines his lifelong love of hunting, and discusses native wildlife, local customs, friends and relatives, and the mysteries of swamp and bayou. Binding is firm. Green cloth boards with black and gold stamping are clean with minimal wear aside from gently bumped corners. Endpapers lightly mottled with pencil notation on FFEP. Text appears clean and unmarked.
