About This Item
The First UK Printing published by Transatlantic Arts (London) in 1945 and printed by The Curwen Press. The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition and has been well protected by the wrapper. The spine remains intact. A little very light creasing to a few pages in places. A small short closed tear to the blank lower edge of one of the pages which does not affect any images. A penned contemporary Christmas inscription to the upper front pastedown. The original WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good condition. A closed tear to the upper front panel / spine area with some loss to the upper spine. This loss is barely noticeable as the decorated boards underneath mimic the wrapper design. Some rubbing to the flap folds. Edge-wear with a few nicks and small closed tears to the edges. The wrapper is now protected in a loose Mylar covering. Profusely illustrated throughout with coloured lithographs by Tom Gentleman. A very scarce survivor and collectible with such attributes. More images are available on request. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
