Front hinge cracked; first signature loose. Contemporary ownership inscription on front free endpaper and occasional contemporary marginalia in pencil. Internally clean. Overall, a good copy. Wyer's compendium gives an overview of Nantucket's history and significant figures as well as local architecture, recreation, and daily life. Includes a ten-page chapter on Nantucket whaling by Dr. Benjamin Sharp
