First Printing Near fine in color illustrated cloth covered boards with black text on the spine and with a color illustration on the front board with black text. An octavo of 8 1/4 by 5 3/8 inches. In a near fine, price clipped dust jacket however, the jacket's original price was clipped to allow the publisher to attach a new price on a sticker. Signed by the author on a bookplate which is tipped on to the first free end page. 79 pages of text with 17 color plates Illustrated by William Pene duBois. Matthiessen first book for children.
