London: Printed for A.Roper, T.Collins, F.Tyton, J.Place, J.Starkey and T.Bassett, 1669. Second Edition, Corrected. Croke was a justice of the Court of Kings-Bench and before that a justice of the Court of Common-Bench, in which courts the cases he reported were adjudged. The cases were originally collected, written and published in law French by Croke, and then revised for publication in English by his son-in-law, Sir Harebotle Grimston. The reports consisted of three parts, the first devoted to cases heard during the reign of Queen Elizabeth, this second part on cases from the reign of King James, and a third on cases from the reign of King Charles I. Wing C7017. folio. pp. 14 p.l., 700, [20]. partly black letter. engraved frontis. portrait of Croke by R.White. woodcut ornaments & initials. contemporary reversed calf (extremities worn, front cover detached, ink stain to outer edge of leaves in several gatherings). contemporary ownership entry of Ro. Hayward, with his marginal ms. notations & later note on title: ëCarefully referred in MSS. by the New Edition, printed 1683. J.Worrallí, (probably the 18th century publisher of legal texts)
