First edition of this remarkable collection of World War II-Era Southern California-based Aggeler & Musser Seed Co. seed catalogues featuring vegetable, grass, flower & tree seeds, which provided seeds and supplies for Home Front Victory Gardens across the U.S. Aggeler (1863-1928) Swiss-American agronomist and Henry Musser (b. 1866), originally set up the company in 1893, and their store at 620 South Spring St. in Los Angeles by 1896. They developed the California Pearl Cauliflower, the Los Angeles Market Lettuce, Casaba Melons, White Rose Potatoes, Anaheim Chili, Pimiento Peppers, and many other varieties of Western vegetables such as Special Utah celery, dwarf Golden Self Blanching Celery, Chayote, Green Mexican Pickling Jalapino peppers, and more.
