FIRST EDITION. The author visited Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia. In his preface, he touts the advantages of traveling by automobile. John Thomson Faris (1871-1949) was a publisher and Presbyterian minister who wrote several other travelogues. An exceptionally bright, fresh copy in a dust jacket with minor wear to the spine ends and edges; though there is some early tape reinforcement to the the verso at the spine ends, folds, and edges, the jacket presents remarkably well because none of this reinforcement is visible from the front.
