Minor edge and corner wear to the dj; lightly scuffed and scratched; corners are lightly bumped and rubbed; former owner's library label is affixed to the inner front cover; some light shelf wear; overall a very crisp and clean signed first edition! "'Why must there be change?' the author asks in rebellion when a cherished pine tree is discovered to have fallen at the lakefront of the family northwoods cabin. It reminds her of all the other changes in the woods and the lives of its inhabitants in the twenty years she and her husband have known it. 'What has happened to our woods because we and others have been here?' She asks herself the question as she sets out on a day's hike around the lake she knows so well.". Inscribed By the Author. First Edition. Yelllow Cloth. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
