Alfred A Knopf, Inc., 1963. * * INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR ON THE FRONT FREE END PAPER * * Book is inscribed to Lee St. Lawrence, sometimes called the Indiana Jones of the Peace Corps. Hard cover with dust jacket bound in green cloth with red top stain, gilt title and dark green stamping, illustrated with b/w photos, 286 pages. Binding is worn at heel of spine which has a nibbled look and has the loss of about 1/16th inch, binding is stained along lower front edge and page edges with splash droplets on rear panel with a little leakage onto the lower margin of front free end paper, about a third of the red top stain near the spine is washed out with damp staining at corners of end papers and a few pages following or preceding but is limited to the corner margin but the text is not marked. Dust jacket has light wear and small chips along edges, single worn spot on front fore-edge, larger chip at heel of spine, spine is sun faded, and now protected in a clear archival cover. Book is solid. Images available. USPS confirmation used on all U.S. shipments.. Signed. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Good. Association Copy.
