Sermons include: The Purpose of Comfort; The Soul's Refuge in God; The Man with One Talent; Humility; The Shrotness of Life and others. Brooks is probably best known for authoring the Christimas Carol "Old Little Town of Bethlehem." He also introduced Helen Keller and Anne Sulivant to Christianity. ; 8vo .

Corners are still sharp with only minor wear. Gilt lettering on spine. Season of 1885 Blue Book subscription broadside included. Also found loose inside book is a review of the book cut out from The Christian Union, published in New York City. Well-preserved volume. There are several light cracks in the binding, however, there are no loose or missing pages. There is foxing, a few notations and a small bookseller label on the end papers. The cover has some small cloth wear spots and light corner tip wear. The spine has a small tear on the top end. 311 pages. .
