Gift inscription to the end-paper with neat pencil notes, comments and under-lining throughout.The greater portion of these 14 sermons were given before the University of Oxford. Shuttleworth was a warden of New College, Oxford and Rector of Foxley, Wilts. and later Bishop of Chichester. [Philip Shuttleworth 1782-1842]. Gift inscription to Aldborough Henniker Esq. from his brother Augustus July 10th 1830. the third baronet and resided at Newton Hall, Essex. A very scarce item.. 1st edition. hardcover. V.g.. 8vo.
