About This Item
Bogotá: Universidad Nacional de Colombia Facultad de Artes, 2007. b/w plates, illus., cat., bibls., fldg. wrps. The book cover wraps around the text and folds over it to close into a book that is 17 cm. Results from a three year (2004-2007) study on Colombia's Indian design that utilize serpent imagery. The author noted that the serpent is a recurring motif and that the way this animal is represented is closely related to each complex ideology and cosmographic universe of each culture and difficult to understand. Thus the author will only intention on this number is to show the graphic interpretations of the serpent in the different ethnic cultures of Colombia, an icon that reflects the anatomical characteristics of the ophidian.
