Lacks dust jacket; spine and boards edges sunned; top edge soiled; front hinge repaired; faint foxing to preliminaries; corners gently bruised; tight backed; spine head split.
Fisher's first book. In her words, "about eating and about what to eat and about people who eat"¹. A collection of essays on eating ranging from the scholarly to the personal, examining classical and medieval meals and her own personal experiences. Researched and written in the Los Angeles Public Library during 1933-34 after Fisher had returned from living in France.
A solid copy.
