New York: Grosset and Dunlap, 1935. Reprint. Hardcover. Very Good/Good+. 8vo. Pp. 417. Illustrated with a 16-pp. section of b&w photo reproductions. Tan cloth, with slight offsetting from dust jacket. Dust jacket with edge-wear and slight chips at head of spine. Very Good in a Good+ dust jacket. The author's experiences in traveling the world in pursuit of historic events: Finding the bones of Christopher Columbus; meeting the (then) world's oldest man, who fought in the Napoleanic Wars; retracing Hannibal's crossing of the Alps into Italy, via elephant; a section on the massacre of the Romanoffs, followed by a visit with Vladimir Lenin's wife, Citizen Krupskaya; etc.

And befriending Orre Nobles, the Hood Canal artist, to whom Halliburton revealed his having swum the length of the Panama Canal, paying a vessel-length rate equivalent to his height. The illustrated dust jacket is first-rate, showing Halliburton astride an elephant. Dust jacket now protected in a clear, removable archival sleeve.
