Illustrated with several b&w tipped-in photos. Bound in decorated cloth with a touch of dust soiling to top edge. Bookplate on front pastedown. Inscribed by author. A particularly fresh copy. Inscribed in ink on the FFEP to nobody in particular: To my wonderful - beautiful friends / In Memory of many happy hours together / From the author / Mary G. Ledyard". A peculiar book, presented as a first-person account of a girl's college in China, and written in pidgin english. But we're uncertain as to where the farce begins and ends. The author, Mary Ledyard, an educator, headed up Foochow (Fuzhou) Union Kindergarten, beginning 1912. Now preserved in a removable, archival sleeve. Bookseller inventory S10197X2D.
