About This Item

Atlanta, GA: Army-Navy Publishers, Inc., 1941. Hardcover. Good-/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. See photos for condition details. Tall hardcover, brown cloth boards with raised text and design on front. During shows scuffing and spotting along with agent corner bumps/wear. The top of the hinge, right side, as a tear present in the rear board has some spotting and what appears to be black paint. Interior binding is good, no hinge issues except for some pulling in a few spots, which includes the title page. The book contains the history of the 141st Field Artillery, 166th Field Artillery and 190th Field Artillery at Camp Shelby, Miss. In 1941. Brown raised boards, illustrated end pages. Owner's name on ex-libris page: Edward Ebersole, Battery-F 166th Field Artillery, who is also pictured on page 82. Both pastedowns and opposite end pages show spotting and toning, front pastedown also has some ripple to the paper which appears to be caused from when it was glued during the bookbinding process. Numerous pages do show foxing although the page with the owners name appears to be the heaviest as does page 126. This is because of the reaction between the glossy paper and the end pages over the decades. Although there are numerous reference to the date of the book being 1941 there is a facsimile letter on the first page from Brigadier General William March which shows a date of January 1, 1942.

Terms of Sale

Yesterday's Book Shop (Member IOBA)

Purchases will ship by US Media Mail or Priority Mail (if buyer selects) and higher priced items may have insured placed on the order and will typically ship within one business day. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 5 lbs., but only in unusual cases. Insurance is available upon request though we normally place insurance on any item of $75 or higher at no additional cost to the buyer. Non-US sales will ship by First Class International or Global Priority. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 4 lbs.

We always take extra care in packaging and shipping. Books are typically wrapped in packing paper or bubblewrap before packaged in a sturdt shipping box. All orders, even those shipped by US Media Mail, will be given a USPS tracking number which will be sent to the buyer so they will know when to expect arrival. Please let us know if there is a book with incorrect or missing photos. We recently moved the inventory to Biblio and a title or two may have had issues with the photos being transferred over.

Yesterday's Book shop is owned and operated by a disabled veteran. Due to my limitations, I often have to rely on speech-to-text software to list the books. If the description has typos ("and pages" instead of "end pages", pace downs instead of pastedowns, guilt instead of gilt, etc,) PLEASE let me know so I can correct the listing. The software spells words by phonetics and can make errors that I may not catch.

There is a 30 day money back guarantee if the book arrives damaged or is not as described. Please contact us prior if you have any issues with your purchases and we will make sure you are taken care of.

About Yesterday's Book Shop (Member IOBA)

Yesterday's Book Shop is an independent, family-owned establishment. The store first opened in 1966 under the name Collector's Corner and was located in Western Maryland. The Collector's Corner dealt mainly in books but also sold stamps and assorted ephemera. In 1975 the name was changed to Yesterday's Book Shop when the store only offered books and printed matter. In the early 2000s the brick and mortar store was closed and now we only sell online.

All of the book pictures were taken at the time the book was listed and we never use generic or stock photos in any listing. If you would like additional photos or information on any listing please let us know and we will be more than happy to comply.
