Stated first edition of a purported diary of a Soviet submarine commander, actually a piece of Cold War propaganda written by a US Navy officer named Marcus Aurelius Arnheiter who would later become the anti-hero of an amazing book (The Arnheiter Affair) by the late Neal Sheehan. an unmarked copy, but water-stained on front boards. Dust jacket (price intact) is rubbed and worn, with several short tears and chipping. We ship all books promptly, carefully, and securely in sturdy cartons, never in mailing bags.
