A facsimile reprint edition of an 1889 edition of Randolph Keim's description of a U.S. Army campaign under the leadership of General Philip Sheridan in 1869. The campaign, conducted in winter, had the goal of subduing Kiowa, Cheyenne and Arapahoe tribes who were on the war path. With several black & white engraved illustrations. --- In rust cloth-covered boards with gilt-stamped spine titling. Dark dust jacket with illustration of mounted troops struggling through a snowstorm. --- A very nice copy: clean, tightly-bound and unmarked. Price-clipped dust jacket with chips and creasing along lower edge, somewhat sunned spine but remaining mostly intact and wrapped in removable archival mylar protector.; Octavo - 8 to 9 in. tall; 308 pages .
