Engaging look at London, England, as it actually appeared when Sherlock Holmes would have lived there at 221 B Baker Street, in 168 pages with over 200 sepia-toned vintage photos throughout the text taken between 1879 & 1914. A FIRST EDITION, first printing from 1989, NOT the later reprint! Square hardcover has brown textured cloth over boards with bright gilt lettering to spine. Condition is Fine (our highest grade): exceptionally clean, binding straight & strong, pages creamy white & unmarked. The unclipped DJ is bright, no fading, but downgraded to VG+ due to a 3" tear descending from head of spine down into front cover & light chipping at corners; looks lovely in new mylar cover!
