Shikar Memories.

A record of Mardon’s hunting experiences during twenty-five years spent as an administrator in the India Civil Service in the United Provinces of Agra and Ondh from 1889 to 1913. Here he recounts and presents a pictorial record of his hunting trips in Sitapur, Goakhpur, Mahoba, Banda, Agra, Budaun District, Naini Tal District, Etawah Distrist, Salt Range (Punjab), Cashmere, and the High Himalayas bordering on Tibet, where he stalked tigers, leopards, Himalayan black and brown bear, sloth bear, Indian buffalo, spotted deer or chital, sambur, Cashmere stag or hangul, musk-deer or kastura, swamp deer or gond, hog deer or para, barking deer or muntjac, gural, serow, black buck or Indian antelope, chinkara or Indian gazelle (chinkara), nilgai or blue bull, urial, tahr, bharal or blue sheep, and wild boar. His photographs mainly depict scenery and his kills.
