Red coloured boards with small silver illustration of a sailing ship on the lower right-hand corner of the front panel and silver writing on the spine. Shelfwear to the lower book edges and there is very faint browning of the paper edges. Illustrated dust wrapper, showing a man in the foreground to women in the back with gilt and white writing on the front panel and white on the spine. Rubbing and chipping to the dust wrapper edges, now protected; Novel set in Paris and New England in the 19th century. Part of the " Australian Saga " sequence of books this being number nine.
