Complete issue of The Log magazine of June 25 1952 with color poster 24 1/2 x 17 1/2 inches folded and tipped into the magazine (13 x 9 3/4 inches). Total of 216 pages, most of which is advertising. Poster has a repaired 2 inch tear where the poster is tipped into the magazine, otherwise very good condition. The magazine has wear to the covers, otherwise very good. An extraordinary poster showing a total of 207 ship stack insignia of American offshore passenger and cargo lines, from the N.Y. and Cuba Mail S.S., the American and Australian Line, Alaska Steamship Co. at upper left to the Weyerhaeuser SS co., Staples Coal Co. Transportation Division and Overseas Shipping Co. at lower right. A fascinating snapshot of United States marine history. This is accompanied by an extensive listing in the magazine of "American Owned Fleets as of July 1, 1952" with ship names, type, gross tons, cu. ft. reefer cap., Passenger capacity, trade, builder, hull no. propulsion, and horse power. Other features include Ship Transfers to Foreign Fleets, U.S. Shipbuilding and Repair, Merchant Fleet Declining After Peak Operation and more. .
