The title continues "Together with the most lamentable losse of the Alcestis & triumphant firing of the Port of Chagres," Written in verse by Richard Adams (best known as the author of 'Watership Down') and illustrated by Aldridge in full-color, full-page paintings. A story of high adventure on the seas in the days of Queen Elizabeth and Shakespeare and of a magnificent brave cat who escapes from a Spanish dungeon and joins forces with Sir Richard Drake. Large format, unpaginated.

The glossy illustrated boards are also in excellent conditon, with just a hint of wear at tips and corners. The dust jacket is in good condition, with light edgewear ovreall, but shallow chips at the top and bottom of the spine. The attached scan gives a better idea of condition. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover.
