SIGNED by Anne Waldman and Alice Notley, two major poets featured in this massive and important anthology co-edited by Anne Waldman and Lewis Warsh. Waldman and Warsh founded Angel Hair, an avant-garde press whose poetry journal appeared six times between 1966 and 1969. In addition, Angel Hair published more than 60 books, pamphlets, and broadsides between 1966 and 1978, featuring poets associated with the New York School, the Beats, Black Mountain, and the San Francisco Renaissance.
This anthology includes works by some of the most important American poets of the 20th century, such as John Ashbery, Frank O'Hara, Barbara Guest, Denise Levertov, Bernadette Mayer, Ron Padgett, James Schuyler, Ted Berrigan, and many more.
Waldman has signed the title page, while Notley has signed her poem, "Latticed Culotte and Starry Blouse," on page 414. Besides featuring poetry from Angel Hair, the book also includes introductions by Waldman and Warsh and numerous photos and memoirs. There's also a valuable checklist of all Angel Hair publications, compiled by Steve Clay and Aaron Fischer. An important reference work. SCARCE SIGNED.
