New York: Foreign & Classical Bookstore, 1839. First American edition. Paper wrappers. Good + overall. The first American edition, with the title page dated 1838, but the cover wrapper dated Fevrier 1839. This is possibly published before the first French & Belgian editions (Paris 1839 by Dumont and Bruxelles 1839 by Meline) which were published under the title... "Quinze jours au Sinaï." The Sinai Peninsula is in northeastern Egypt, bordering Israel and the Gaza Strip.
Lg. 8vo, 462pp, uncut and unopened, original wrappers. Spine quite split, with a small chunk out of the bottom left cover and a few following pages, with a little scattered foxing.
