About This Item
New York: Harper & Brothers, 1940. Very Good/Good. New York: Harper & Brothers, 1940. First Edition, stated, with A-P code. Octavo; [vi], 348pp. Illustrated dust jacket with $2.00 price intact; book in green cloth with blue lettering. Jacket chipped and torn along edges and spine ends (with no loss to text) and cracking down flap folds, showing some general smudging and light soiling to surface, and impressions over author's name and most of the title on spine from someone penciling over them with low-key but non-tearing aggression. Boards a bit inwardly-bowed, with light bumps to top corners, fading along top edges, nudging to spine ends, and a crease to cloth down slightly-cocked spine. Opens easily between a few gatherings, but binding is holding soundly. Interior clean and unmarked.
