Lutterworth Press,, 1960. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1960. Third Impression. 176 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth. Black and white illustrations throughout. Pages are bright and clear with light foxing and tanning to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Hinges are very lightly cracked but boards remain firmly attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean.
Synopsis
Enid Blyton's novel focuses on two boys, Bob Kent and Tom Berkeley, whose problems at home lead them to seek security and companionship with their peers, and they join a neighborhood group called the Four Terrors Gang (and it becomes the Six Terrors Gang). The cellar where they have their headquarters seems like a haven from the various miseries they suffer at home until the combination of aimlessness and rebellion lead the boys to commit petty crime. Soon, an appearance at the Juvenile Court changes the lives of all six boys.
