Kent, OH: Kent State University Libraries , 1971. FIRST EDITION, LIMITED SIGNED ISSUE. Number 22 of 50 sets out of a total edition of 500 sets produced. Number 6 of Occassional Papers published by Kent State University Libraries to commemorate the dedication of a new library building 9-10 April 1971. The creators of the poems and prints were all associated in some way with Kent State and were asked to submit new work for this publication. The poets submitted new poems, the artists prepared sketches on acetate which were reproduced as prints. Thirteen loose 12 by 10 inch broadsides and prints plus title sheet housed in a brown printed paper portfolio. SIGNED BROADSIDE POEMS by John Ashbery, James Bertolino, Gwendolyn Brooks, Denise Levertov, Steven Osterlund and Gary Snyder. Of the ARTIST PRINTS the four by Robert Smithson, Otto Piene, Fairfield Porter, and Harvey Quaytman are SIGNED AND NUMBERED 22/50. The print by Mary Ann Begland is signed, titled "wish thinking", and dated April 1971. The prints by Grace Hartigan and and Alex Katz are not signed, as issued. All broadsides and artist prints are bright and fine. The paper portfolio has been neatly reinforced on the verso of the front flap with archival document repair tape else near fine. See photos.
