Hardcover bound in quarter tan cloth with grey paper-covered boards and the remains of the original grey dust jacket. Light to moderate wear to the binding. The boards show some browning and foxing, likely from the remains of the dust jacket. The front and rear panels and turn-ins of the jacket remain. The front panel of the jacket has a couple of glass rings as well as a 3 1/2inch tear on the fore edge near the bottom corner. This tear has some old and failed tape repairs and a large accompanying crease. There is also a paper label on the front panel of the jacket from the Medici Society noting this Cloth binding version originally cost 2 Pounds, 12 Shillings, 6 d. Light wear to the binding. A sound copy and clean within. The top corner of the front cover and text block is a little bumped. There is a spot of soiling and some dull creasing on the rear cover, but overall a sound, clean copy. Housed in a removable plastic sleeve with a board backing. Scarce.

Includes a 30-page publisher's catalog (erratically paginated) at the rear. Hardcover bound in full leather. The binding shows some old wear and cover stains but is quite sound. Sturdy hinges. Early owner's light pencil inscription on the front flyleaf and a later doctor's inscription on the front pastedown. The text block is sound, and the text is foxed, sometimes quite heavily. Still, a sturdy copy of a scarce work and in the original binding. From a Mocksville (Davie County), North Carolina 19th century doctor's collection.

Hardcover in original green cloth dust jacket with a white paper label on the spine. Moderate wear to the jacket, which is housed in a plastic jacket cover. The book shows light to moderate wear and has secure inner hinges. The binding of the book appears to be quarter vellum, but this is not actually vellum. Lacks the paper label on the spine of the book itself, although the jacket has the paper label. Book is sound and clean within. Top edge gilt; fore edge untrimmed. This is number 160 of a limited edition of 500 copies. Collates complete with four illustrations, including the frontis.

New York: Home Publishing Company, 1903. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. 12mo. 147 pages. Hardcover in grey cloth with front cover designs embossed in dark brown and gilt. The binding is quite rubbed and worn. The front board has damping. Rear board has smudges and scuffs. Some pages are damped have smudging. Text is foxed. No copyright date, but the book was published in 1903. An early owner's inscription on front flyleaf reads, "To Thomas (?) from Katherine Kelby. / Feb. 19, 1905." We have found a listing of this book for sale in the December, 1903 advertisements of "The Theosophical Forum." The advertisement in that journal of this book states, "The dawn of a new day in the intellectual and spiritual development of the child. These stories, which embody the higher laws of being, are so simply told that the youthful mind can easily comprehend them. Between each story is an exquisite 'Moonlight Lullaby.'" Germanton [Germantown, Pennsylvania]: Gedruckt bey Leibert und Billmeyer, 1784. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Poor. 12mo. 252 pages. A small book measuring 5 3/4 inches tall by almost 3 1/2 inches wide. Hardcover bound in original leather-covered wooden boards. The binding is quite worn and stained. Chipping at the spine ends. The leather is chipped and is darkened on the rear cover (from having been damped) and is peeling up where it is chipped, revealing the wooden board beneath. The front pastedown is torn away, revealing the front wooden board. Lacks the clasp. Several signatures a bit sprung. There is a chip at the fore edge of the title page, affecting some of the lettering. The text is toned and stained. Bottom edge torn away from the bottom of the final leaf, but there does not appear to be text missing. Worldcat also notes 252 pages. Printed in "Old German" type. A scarce 18th century American Psalter written in German.

Paris: Imprimerie d'e DuVerger, 1852. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Quarto. 329; 37 pages. Hardback bound in original quarter brown leather with brown marbled paper-covered boards. Red leather label on the spine as well as a gilt-stamped emblem of a "V" with scroll work and a banner beneath a crown. The binding shows moderate rubbing and wear and is sound. Hinges quite sturdy and supple. Marbled endpapers and all edges marbled. Prior owner's bookplate on the front pastedown of "Lewis St. Louis." Text is clean. After the main part of the text (first 200 pages) there are over 100 pages of printed facsimile of handwritten pages (original to the publication which appear to show a register of items, values, etc. Pages 277-319 have been printed as 3/4 pages so that the text at the top of page 321 serves as headers for the columns throughout the section.

Harrisburg [Pennsylvania]: Gedruckt und zu haben bey C. Gleim, 1814. Hardcover. Very Good. 16mo. iii, 125 pages. A small, pocket-sized book. The binding measures 5 inches tall by 3 1/2 inches wide. Hardcover bound in early quarter leather with green and tan marbled paper-covered boards. The binding is rubbed and worn but sound. The leather spine is solid. Rubbing along the edges of the binding, and the corners are bumped and worn to the boards beneath. Hinges secure. Complete with 2 front and 2 rear flyleaves. The text is tone and has occasional foxing or staining but overall is quite acceptable. Text is in German. This work does NOT contain scored music. A rough translation of the title is, "Spiritual Songs: With an Appendix, Consisting of Spiritual and Comforting Songs, by Various Poets." A nice early 19th Century Harrisburg, Pennsylvania imprint.

Hardcover bound in white quarter cloth with grey cloth covered boards. The binding is quite worn and stained but sound. Old glass rings and stains on the front cover, especially at the fore edge. The white cloth spine is foxed and the spine is toned and the spine gilt a bit dulled. A sound copy with secure hinges. Text is clean. Illustrated throughout with black and white photos. Signed on the back side of the frontis by William Lanier Hunt. William Lanier Hunt (1906-1996) was the "Dean of Southern Horticulture." He donated land along the Morgan Creek in southern Orange County, NC to the North Carolina Botanical Garden and is now known as the Hunt Arboretum.

The front and rear covers have pale spotting, and the spine is toned. A sound copy with secure inner hinges. Top edge gilt. Endpapers foxed. Text is toned but generally clean with a bit of foxing near the photographic plates. Complete with the folding map at the rear. The map has some brief tears at the edges of the folds. Quite scarce.
