Ernest Benn Ltd., 1927. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1927. Essex Edition. 261 pages. No dust jacket. Volume X of H. G. Wells' Collected works. Brown cloth with black lettering. Book has a slight smoky odour. Pages are lightly tanned with mild foxing to endpapers and text block edges. Former owner's inscription to front paste-down, with a few small nicks and rub marks along text block edge. Mild cracking to gutters with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. Minor dog-eared corners. Occasional thumb-marking present throughout. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with notable bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Book has a pronounced forward lean. Light sunning to spine, with visible crushing to spine ends.
