Brown woodgrain boards and spine with gilt lettering on the spine. Woodcuts of Richardson Hall at Southwestern College in Winfield Kansas as endpapers. Clean internals; internal hinges are sound and not split. 154 pp 8vo. This book is an honest record of life at the turn of the 20th Century when farm life was and isolated existence, when church attendance meant social contact, once a week, and going to town was a seven mile ride in a spring wagon. The setting is the Flint Hills of Eastern Kansas and living on a farm and the long hours of work that entailed by all family members. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
