J H Sears & Company Inc; New York, 1900. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Publication date not stated. Quarterbound textured black boards with red cloth to the spine. Gold tinted paper labels with black lettering and design, to front board and spine. Labels are complete except for one on spine with a small chip to lower right corner; labels are generally worn and somewhat faded. Boards show edge and corner wear, with underlying board exposed in spots; bump to lower portion of fore edge of rear board. Interior clean, with solid binding. A history of morganatic marriage - a form of marriage usually between two persons of unequal rank, in which titles and property would not transfer to spouse or children. 287 pages, with 16 illustratons.
