About This Item
Peachtree Publishers, 2015. Very Rare Uncorrected Proof with Original Cover Art Wide 8vo size trade paperback; 271 pages with more than 100 black and white illustrations, including some full-page and some two-page spreads. From back: "Inspired by a childhood experience... author-illustrator Henry Cole offers this charming illustrated novel featuring a stalwart protagonist on the adventure of a lifetime." There are many things unique to this volume: Printed in 2015, it's copyright is 2016 (normally a book is copywritten before being printed) Covers are unique to Proof. Front cover is clearly marked proof and has a large illustrated sticker at about the midpoint. The sticker says "Sammy Shine got a makeover! Look for the new cover on all finished books!" It's a "Makeover!" While a large sticker on the front cover does a good job obscuring it, between the time the Proof book went to print and before it was sent out, the cover art was changed. You have both the original cover on the proof and the actual cover art for the finished book on the sticker. Why the change? That would be a great question to ask the author. The back cover is also clearly marked as a proof and contains some brief information about the book's Publicity Plans and Publication. In great condition with only minor edgewear. . Trade Paperback. Very Good/No Jacket. Illus. by Cole, Henry. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Uncorrected Proof.
