Interior foxing: front and last pages mostly; not to end papers.. Binger, Wm. F. (Illustrated by).. 1 91 p. Dark blue buckram cloth over boards. Gold stamped spine and front titles plus cover art: log cabin woodsman in gold. Art in color plates, B&W line art. Author of the earlier "Habitant" publication, verses about the simple cultivator of the soil, W.W. MacCuaig, again draws portraits in verse from French Canadians, here among the lumber camps of Quebec Province. Here are the stories of the "broad-axe men" and of making pine timber square, drawing it by shanty-men over snowy winter roads to high mountain lakes, then floating the timber down streams to the "Grand River" where it was lashed into rafts headed for Quebec.
