This volume, with the help of Delaunay's journals. sketchbooks and other personal records, traces the artist's life beginning with her childhood in Russia, her art studies in Germany, her move to Paris in 1905 where from the 1920s and 30s she blossomed in the expatriate art world. Delaunay's artistic talents appeared in bookbinding, tapestries, carpets and fabric designs.
