Hardcover in pale blue green cloth stamped in blue and gilt. 334 pp. Early edition (publisher's seal but no "A" on copyright page). Fine, some light offsetting to the endpapers. In the striking original dust jacket with with silhouette and crescent moon design by Carroill Snell; original price of $2.00 intact, modest waer at the spine ends and tips. Rawlings debut book, a novel of the land and people of the scrub lands of Florida. Despite the enormous popularity of her later "The Yearling", many consider this beautiful work to be the author's best.
