(New York: Passantino, 1955. Softcover. Fine. Stapled wrappers. Quarto. Fine in illustrated wrappers. Large souvenir program for Capote's light-hearted musical about the goings-on at two competing brothels in the West Indies. The show was headlined by Pearl Bailey, with a cast that included Alvin Ailey, Diahann Carroll, Geoffrey Holder, and Sabu, all but Bailey in their Broadway debuts. This program is Inscribed by Capote to Pearl Bailey at his photograph in the program: "Dear Pearl - Thank you for all you do. Truman Capote." Capote and Bailey are pictured in the program clowning around, either holding hands or arm-wrestling, a competition in which the tiny terror would almost surely come out second best. A wonderful association.
