About This Item
Amsterdam, Netherlands: Uitgave Van A. Jager Small (17 x 12 cm) hardcover album of 12 duotone photographs of Rotterdam in an attached foldout with the first image secured to the inside of the front cover, undated, but by my estimation they all appear to be from the late 1800s - early 1900s, about 1880 - 1910;---only text is the captions to the photographs which is in Dutch;---very attractive folder in ruby red cloth in an elaborate raised pattern on the back, plain spine, same pattern repeated on front cover with the addition of accents in black and the title in very bright and clear gilt lettering;--- very gently used, tight in binding, hardly a trace of shelf wear, two tiny different bookplates inside back cover designed by previous owner (Dutch-Canadian silhouette artist and graphic designer Hans-Detlev Voss who still lived and worked in The Netherlands during the 1930s/1940s) and his tiny ink numeral also inside back cover, otherwise very clean and unmarked throughout;---photograph captions: De Spoorburg Over de Maas; Gezicht op de maas; Het Stanbeeld Van Erasmus; De Bierhaven; De Wijnhaven; Plan-C; De Schmkade; De Spansche Kade; De Deleftsche Vaart; De Oosterkade; Het Stigjer; Oyersche.
