The account describes the battle that resulted, with the Nationalist side losing 1 heavy cruiser and 765 dead, no losses to the Republicans, leading to a victory for the Republican side. It is rare to see any original documents on such a topic, and this appears to have been written within months of the action, probably with the intention of seeking publication in a periodical of the time.
