Blue cloth, gilt titles to spine, green titles stamped to front cover with block-printed image of garden in green and very pale green inset in centre; no dustjacket. 139pp plus index and publisher's catalogue. Blue top page edges. With 86 plates, 6 of them colour reproductions of watercolours by the author, he rest b&w photos; also with many line drawings and plans in text: overall the contents are beautifully set out. A Good+ copy. The pages are clean and very good, the endpapers browned with a 1938 gift inscription to front free endpaper; the covers are mostly bright and clean but the lower front and back covers and lower spine have patchy white fading spots.
