First edtition and the photoplay edition, a novelization of the silent movie comedy starring Harold Lloyd and illustrated with scenes from that film. Pictorial endpapers. 274 pp. plus 6 pp. of ads at rear. A truly hilarious film about a young man who attempst to save his lady-love's father's streetcar business from the clutches of an unscrupulous magnate. The chase scenes were filmed on location on the streets of New York, providing a rare early look at the city. The film also features a cameo by Babe Ruth, who is delivered by Speedy in a taxi to Yankee Stadium (if you have the chance to view the film, ignore the printed dialogue cards and try reading the Babe's lips during the hair-raising ride!). Ruth is pictured in one of the photo plates. Very good or somewhat better copy, bit of sunning to the spine strip. Pencilled Christmas 1928 gift inscription o the half-title page. No dust jacket.
