Light indentations from paper clips and small spots of tape residue (not visible from the front) at one edge; short tear at the upper edge of the Fucus print (well outside image). Overall very good condition. Two engravings from the second edition of William Curtis's magnum opus "Flora Londinensis", enlarged by George Graves and William Jackson Hooker. The text sheets identify both as members of the class and order Cryptogamia Algae; text of the Fucus Palmatus notes: "As an article of food this species is well known. On various parts of the coast of Scotland I have seen the natives in a season of scarcity gathering it from the rocks, and in a raw state making a meal of it." The Sphaerococcus image was drawn by R.K. Greville. Each has botanical details and is finely handcolored. .
