Original photo-illustrated dust-jacket over burgundy cloth with gold lettering on spine. Illustrated with 254 striking full-color photographic reproductions, this work is a sumptuous feast of the most important and famous classical Persian carpets and many other finely knotted urban pieces. Each carpet illustrated here is accompanied by the size and number of knots per square inch, the vital statistics of any precious piece, the type of material and dyes used, and finally its date, location and origin. Minor shelf wear and previous owners' name rubber stamped on front free endpaper. Endpaperss with minor soiling. DJ in good+ with a short closed tear and small chip near top of front hinge. Binding and interior in overall very good- condition.
