Volume 1: Frontispiece colored illustration of a tiger attack, 3 additional full page color illustrations, 1 full page black and white illustration, 1 fold-out map, 2 pages of publisher's ads. Volume 2: Frontispiece colored illustration of a leopard hunt, 3 additional full page color illustrations, 1 full page black and white illustration, 1 fold-out map, 32 pages of publisher's ads. Both volumes bound in publisher's plain dark red cloth with gold spine titles. Both volumes bumped on both ends of spine, spines slightly slanted, and corners rubbed. Previous owner bookplate on front pastedown of both volumes. Previous bookseller label (Calcutta) on front pastedown of both vols. Vol 1 has rubbing to edges of covers with lightening of cloth, binding cracked at front gutter (binding sound) , fold-out map has small tear in margin. Vol 2 has rubbing to top and bottom edges of covers, rubbing to back cover, small black stain to back cover and spine. Lt. Col. FitzWilliam Thomas Pollok served in the British Army in India and Burma for 13 years. He published 4 books about sport in British India and Burma, all of them highly collectible, this title is the first and scarcest of his books. In this two volume set Pollok describes hunts after elephant, rhino, buffalo, bear, tiger, leopard, deer, and wild boar. He also discusses geography, the natural beauty of his surroundings, and the peoples and cultures of British Burma. Two volume set - international orders will require extra shipping charges. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .
