About This Item

Nicely illustrated with photographs, drawings, and facsimile documents throughout. There is an Index of Names at the back. Founded in 1865, "The Sporting Times" was a weekly British newspaper devoted chiefly to sport, and in particular to horse racing. It was informally known at "The Pink 'Un" as it was printed on salmon-colored paper. This book is a collection of remembrances and anecdotes of the newspaper days by one of the paper's sporting journalists, J.B. Booth.
Condition:
Clean front cover; there is a tiny, white-ish stain on the back cover; the cloth on the spine has partially faded. Sharp cover corners. There is a cloth tear over the title at the top of the spine. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. The book leans to the right a bit. Nice interior - the text pages are clean and appear unread with no issues found. Tanning to the end papers and pastedowns. There is a blue pencil squiggle at the top-left corner of the front pastedown. Overall the book is in Good+ condition.
