Binder's stamp to the verso of front endpaper, 'W Roach Co New York'. Illustrated, with a frontispiece and six plates. With the bookplate of Arthur Howard Thompson to the front pastedown. Written by John Yonge Akerman, the English antiquarian who specialised with numismatics. A lovely work, which inspired many who had 'never in their lives cast a fly' (preface). This work is set over the course of six days, with extended notes to the rear. In a half morocco binding with paper covered boards.
