About This Item
Vermont: Stephen Greene Press , 1968. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Very Good. 11" by 8.5". Ronald Searle. A collection of illustrations by popular artist Ronald Searle. A U.S issue of this work. First edition. Searle is probably best remembered for his creation of St Trinian's School which sprang to fame shortly after the Second World War. He illustrated over forty books, designed numerous sets and costumes for film as well as creating his own cartoon film 'John Gilpin'. He won many awards for his work including the 'Reuben' award. It was the first time that the National Cartoonist Society of America gave the award to a foreign artist. This is a vastly amusing collection of sketches by the talented artist. In the original full cloth binding and held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Light rubbing to the head and tail of spine as well as to the extremities. Light bumping to the extremities. Dustwrapper is rubbed to the joints and to the extremities. Small chips to the head and tail of spine. Spots to the wraps. Tape repairs internally to the wraps at joints. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Near Fine
